TestStand Sequence Editor unusably slow

I'm trying to evaluate TestStand for use at my company, and I've downloaded the TestStand demo. Whenever I try to access different things in the Sequence Editor, the program gets very slow; it is basically unusable. Some details on my setup: 

• I'm not running LabView at all. My intention is to write my tests in Python. I don't know if it's trying to run some LabView stuff in the background. Maybe it requires LabView?
• It often puts "(Not Responding)" in the title bar.

I'm hoping that there's a solution for this because it sounds like it would be really useful.
