Format one digit number into two digit numbers

Hi,

I encounter a typical problem that consists in formatting all one digit numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 to 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09.

I have read str( func without finding good format option.

What is the easiest way to do this job ?
